Summer camp, events & meetings – accommodation for up to 60 people.

The Kymenlaakso College riverside campus in Kouvola’s Inkeroinen, offers an excellent setting for summer camping for up to 60 people of all ages. During term time, the campus provides high standards of visual arts education to students inclusively with accommodation, while respecting the historical Folk High School teaching methods.

The campus in Inkeroinen is conveniently situated in the middle of Kymenlaakso county in Southeast Finland, between the cities of Kotka and Kouvola. It has great transport links from all over Finland, for example under 2 hours by car from the Helsinki airport. The Kymi River runs next to the campus while the centre of small town is only a minute’s walk away. Right next door there is a swimming pool, and riverside exercise park with modern equipment including beach volleyball.

Space for everything – for hire

The premises include a dormitory with 28 comfortable twin rooms, all with en suite shower rooms. The facilities are great for groups or families alike, with 4 shared open-plan living rooms & fully equipped kitchens. Other facilities include a sauna, a laundry room, a lounge area with a fireplace, and numerous other rooms suitable for groups. The gardens are mainly woodland style, and there is a fire pit for those campfire evenings.

The main building includes offices, a library, several classrooms and a large ballroom. A modern commercial kitchen and a spacious diner with a partion meeting area, can be found on the ground floor. Next door, there is a separate timber-built art house ‘Old Kulttis’, which offers a hall/gym, and IT and art class over two floors. It also has a pottery workshop, including a kiln for the creatives.

Nature trails to explore

In Finland you may practice the ‘everyman’s-right’ while spending time in outdoors. Visit most forests and lakes without prior notice or permits. It offers an excellent space for exploring the woodlands safely, from many public footpaths including nature trails. Amazing wilderness must be experienced by those, who wish to step away from the trails. Swimming in the lakes and rivers is a must. As there are over 100 000 lakes in Finland, your group will surely enjoy some wild swimming. For fishing, you may obtain affordable permit, conveniently online.
